CHRIS & NICK JOHNSON
In April 2015, brothers Chris & Nick Johnson finally began working together and uploaded "Broken Hearts & Carpet Burns", a song written over a decade before, to BBC Introducing. The song was chosen for broadcast on Introducing H&W and they were honoured to be Artist of the Week less than a fortnight later. Chris and Nick recorded a live session for Introducing H&W at Colwall Family Music Festival in July 2015 and later that year were placed at No.6 in Andrew Marston's Top 10 of 2015/Hot For 2016 list in January 2016.
Whilst the pair have worked together in the past in Chris’ bands The Wash and Sperm Whale Eddie they hadn’t collaborated properly or written together for a specific project until then.
Nick was previously a member of the final line-up of Thunderclap Newman, alongside founding member Andy Newman and Mark Brzezicki (Big Country, Pete Townshend, The Cult) including their performance at the Isle of Wight Festival in 2012 and in January 2020 was a member of Mark’s band on his Drum Clinic tour.
Chris and Nick are currently finalising the expanded full band line-up and will be announcing live dates on this page in due course.
